Firetrace News

Firetrace are currently carrying out a large project in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, installing Fryertrace an automatic fire suppression system to cooker hobs in newly redeveloped student accommodation.

Local business Firetrace Ltd has been awarded accreditation from Safecontractor for its commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety.

Safecontractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme which recognises very high standards in health and safety management amongst UK contractors.

Firetrace’s application for Safecontractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business.

Over the years, Firetrace Ltd has supplied and installed automatic fire suppression systems to laboratory fume cupboards in a number of universities and scientific establishments. A few years ago the Chemistry Department at the University of York installed a number of our systems in their laboratories following on from a bad experience they had some years ago involving a serious fire.

Company director Tim Melton travelled to Scottsdale Arizona USA last week to meet with people from Firetrace’s sister company Firetrace International.

Firetrace International hosted an engineering meeting and invited representatives from all the Firetrace companies, including those from North and South America, the UK and Denmark.
