Our fire suppression systems use the patented Firetrace® detection tubing which is installed around the risk and connected to the cylinder valve. The tubing is then charged with nitrogen and this pressure is utilised to hold the valve in the closed position.
Should a high temperature or fire occur then the pressurised tubing will burst and the cylinder valve will activate deploying the extinguishant immediately onto the fire.
A switch is also added to the system and is held closed by the pressure. Should the tubing burst or the pressure be lost for any reason then the switch will open and automatically stop the machine.
Firetrace systems are manufactured under our ISO 9001:2015 quality system and are CE marked.
Firetrace offer affordable suppression solutions for the protection of CNC/EDM and automated machinery. The system reacts quickly, minimising expensive machine damage and downtime. The systems can be easily retrofitted to existing equipment and avoid the need for complicated detectors and electronics.
Firetrace have been automatic fire suppression systems manufacturers for than two decades and have a vast experience in the fire industry. We have a number of recorded cases where our systems have both sensed and destroyed fires on CNC & EDM machines, with little or no resulting damage.
We offer a number of packages including a complete design and installation service, and we are recognised by most major insurance providers.
You can read about a real example of how our systems prevented major damage to CNC systems here.
Firetrace has a range of Automatic Fire Suppression Systems ideal for protecting all types of automated machinery. The systems use our unique patented linear detection tubing which is installed throughout the risk areas of the machine. This tubing can quickly and accurately detect a fire whilst still being
flexible and robust enough to withstand the harsh environments that often exist within them.
The systems don’t need complex electronic detectors or panels and operate simply using pneumatics. This alleviates the need for separate power supplies or battery backups and also makes the entire system fail-safe with minimal moving parts.
A choice of extinguishants are available to suit each application and the systems easily interface with the machines stop circuit, extraction/ventilation equipment, and the house alarm system.
Our fire suppression system design and technical team have many years experience in designing systems to suit specific applications.
"Unexpected tool failure caused a flash fire inside one of our sliding head machines. Thanks to the Firetrace system installed, the fire was supressed immediately without any damage inside the machine.
The machine was back in production 48 hours later, just as soon as Firetrace had been on site to recommission & recharge the system. Disaster averted – worth every penny!" - Coker Engineering Ltd
